Gary W. Fowler, Executive Vice President

Gary is responsible for identifying and acquiring multi-family investment opportunities as well as overseeing the asset management of the portfolio. He supervises and directs the investment modeling and due diligence process for apartment acquisitions for both Preferred Communities and our clients. In addition, Gary tracks investment performance and manages the investor reporting for all properties. He has sourced, underwritten, and asset managed over $300 million in multi-family assets.

Prior to joining Preferred Communities, Gary was the Vice President of Operations for The Finger Companies, a national multi-family development and management company. At The Finger Companies, Gary’s portfolio consisted of 30 properties, totaling approximately 10,000 units, located in Houston, Dallas, Austin, Chicago, Atlanta, and Denver. This portfolio included all types of residential communities from high-rise luxury communities to affordable housing.

Previously, Gary was the Chief Financial Officer of Greystar Real Estate Partners where he was responsible for all investor reporting, property financings, asset dispositions, accounting, and human resources. While at Greystar, Gary served on the Executive and Investment Committees and was Chairman of the Information Technology Committee.

Gary received a BBA from Texas State University and is a Certified Public Accountant in Texas.
