"Who drives the organization?"

Lori L. Follett, Controller

Lori directs and supervises all accounting, financial reporting, and human resources functions.  She works closely with our partners, clients, lenders and staff to meet their specific reporting needs. In addition to accounting, Lori brings to Preferred Communities over 20 years of experience in many aspects of the multifamily industry including acquisitions due diligence, property financing, and software implementation.

Prior to joining Preferred Communities, Lori was Controller/Assistant Vice President of Accounting Services for Alliance Residental Management, a national multifamily owner and management company.  Lori was responsible for the financial reporting for over 200 apartment communities and 45 partnerships and supervised a staff of 25 accountants and clerks.    In addition to financial reporting, Lori was actively involved in property acquisitions and dispositions, property financing, and audit work for both U.S. and foreign partners.  She also played an integral role in the evaluation, selection and implementation of new operations and accounting software.

Previously, Lori was with Greystar Real Estate Partners for eleven years.  At Greystar, Lori managed a staff of 14 with responsibility for the financial reporting for both owned and third-party managed properties.  She oversaw the accounting of various property types ranging from conventional to affordable housing.

Lori is familiar with a wide range of multifamily software applications including MRI, OneSite and JD Edwards.
